Austria has succeeded like no other country in uniting the vast majority of additive manufacturing (AM) stakeholders from industry, science, education, media and politics in one organization. With its current 92 institutional members and close cooperation with the Federal Ministry for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology (BMK), the AM-Austria technology platform acts as a central hub for the entire national AM sector. A new board has been elected for the new term of office, which has set itself the goal of continuing and further expanding the successful course.
AM-Austria Technology Platform
The AM-Austria technology platform acts as a central hub for the Austrian AM sector by networking national players and thus promoting interdisciplinary exchange and cooperation in the industry. Opening up to international companies and experts also promotes the transfer of knowledge and supports the dissemination of future technologies in the field of digital production. The global exchange of know-how, resources and innovations also enables companies and organizations to work together more efficiently and overcome common challenges in the Austrian market - where medium-sized companies and specialized industries form the backbone of the economy. This strengthens the Austrian AM provider and user industry and positions it for international competition in the future.
New board invites interested organizations to participate
A new Board of the Technology Platform was elected for the new term of office at the General Assembly in September 2024. The new board, consisting of Dr. Johannes Gartner, Dr. Arko Steinwender, DI Benjamin Losert, DI Michael Kitzmantel and Thomas Gruber, has set itself the goal of continuing the successful course of AM-Austria together with the platform manager Ing. National and international organizations interested in promoting the additive manufacturing sector in the Austrian market are cordially invited to participate in this interdisciplinary dialogue and shape the future of additive manufacturing together. “We strive to create a cooperative environment that promotes the development and dissemination of innovations in the field of additive manufacturing in Austria,” explains Dr. Johannes Gartner, President of AM-Austria. Members benefit not only from comprehensive support services and a strong international presence of Austrian innovations, but also from the opportunity to help shape the thematic and strategic direction through active participation in working groups. As the voice of the industry, AM-Austria formulates and represents the requirements and interests of its members to politicians and the public. This close cooperation creates optimal framework conditions and promotes innovation and progress in the field of additive manufacturing in Austria. AM-
